I was trying to make a few edits to my front page display – trying to add a slider. I gave up and then tried to get my original static front page to display and I’m getting very frustrated.
When I go to “Customize” and click “Widgets” I originally had an image there that I had on a static front page. Now when I go to “Widgets” it doesn’t have a “Front Page Widgets” section, only the footers and social media.
Currently I added my desired front page image to the “Footer 1” widget area, but I don’t want this permanently for 2 reasons: (1) it adds a gray line above the image on the front page, and (2) it then ends up at the bottom of all my pages.
Please help. This is getting very frustrating.

By the way the blog I need help with is NOT desiharmony.wordpress.com. it is grinvites.org (grinvites.wordpress.com). This forum is automatically adding that annoying line below my message.
I think the issue is that in the customizer you can only find the widget areas available in the list that can be seen/used on the preview page you are currently on in the customizer.
So you need to create your static Moka front page first and go to this page in the customizer preview, then all Front page widget areas should be available, too.
Please let me know, if this is not solving the issue.
