Can someone help me remove the awkward hyphenation of words on my site?

    Hi there, I have been digging through help archives and tried the CSS codes that have worked for others, and they are not working for me. I have the Gema theme, and my content column is really narrow, I tried removing the widgets in an attempt to widen it but it stayed really slim. Ultimately my context/text space is so slim my words are being cut off in the most random places, making for a really clunky reading experience.

    My site is KatrishaRose.com

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    The blog I need help with is katrisharose.com.

    Hey! 🙂

    I like that you gave the Gema theme a distinct look and feel. Great job so far! 👏

    Even if it’s not a good practice, you can try the CSS below:

    p {
      hyphens: none;
    }

    Give it a try and let me know how it works. 👀

    Hi Alin,

    Thank you!
    I added your suggestion to my custom CSS and saved, but unfortunately it is still hyphenating the words.

    I am not sure what I may doing wrong. I have a few other CSS customizations and I don’t know if they are conflicting with this new one or if I just need to try something else.
    This is everything I have within the custom CSS:

    p {
    hyphens: none;
    }

    .page .entry-title {
    display: none;
    }

    .entry-meta .byline, .entry-meta .cat-links {
    display: none;
    }

    .entry-meta .posted-on {
    display: none;
    }

    .word-wrap, body {
    -webkit-hyphens: none;
    -moz-hyphens: none;
    -ms-hyphens: none;
    hyphens: none;
    }

    .page .entry-header {
    display: none;
    }

    .page .footer-menu {
    display: none;
    max-width: 2000px;
    }
    }

    Thanks so much for your help!

    Hey!

    I’m sorry about that. Please remove the CSS sent last time and replace it with the one below:

    /* Stop breaking words */
    p {
        word-break: break-all;
    }

    Let me know how it goes this time.

    Hi,

    I didn’t get any feedback so I checked your site and noticed the provided CSS helped.

    In this case, I am going to close the thread and mark it as Resolved.

    Stay safe!
