  my title doesn’t fit but changing any font from ‘normal’ size to ‘small’ makes it all too small

  It doesn’t look like horsepulling.wordpress.com is using the Nowell theme. Once you’ve activated Nowell for that site, I can take a look and provide a CSS snippet.
