Is there a way to put a call to action button in the hero image, or layered on top of it?

I’d like a field and a button to capture emails that links to mailchimp. I already have mailchimp set up.

In the future I’d like a buy now button that just links to an item within a store page.

    thanks in advance

The blog I need help with is sugarfreemixer.com.

    Hello,

It’s possible to add a custom text to the header section in single views by using a custom CSS. Please see this solution: https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/adding-text-to-the-header/#post-104199

If you want to add additional text to the Featured Content item, please see this solution: https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/targeting-titles-of-pages/?replies=12

Note, by using a custom CSS, you will be able to add a plain text. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add links.

By the way, have you seen MailChimp widget? https://en.support.wordpress.com/mailchimp/

It allows to display the subscriber popup form on your site.

    Thank you,
    Taras

Thanks for your response Taras. You say that you cannot add links but isn’t the “read more ->” in the demo a link?

What I would like is a call to action button/field within the hero image section.
There are other themes that I believe do this…Not sure why it can’t be done with HTML/CSS?

I do have mailchimp – if you go ot the bottom of my page you will see the form.

“You say that you cannot add links but isn’t the “read more ->” in the demo a link? What I would like is a call to action button/field within the hero image section.”
    – I apologize about the confusion. I’ve meant that it’s not possible to add a custom link via CSS. Also, the “Read More” link, that you see in the Featured Content, was added by using the More tag: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/

The problem is that the More tag is always linked to the original page, meaning WordPress does not allow to a have a custom link when using the More tag.

“There are other themes that I believe do this…Not sure why it can’t be done with HTML/CSS?”
    – The reason why it’s not possible to display a custom HTML in the Featured Content section in the Venture theme is because the theme displays only the title and the More tag in the featured slide. Other themes might have a different layout of the Featured Content section where they also display the page content.

I would recommend to add a “Subscribe” link to the main navigation. In this case, this link will be always visible to your site visitors, and as a result it might increase conversion rate.

But I am afraid, it’s not possible to add a custom link to the Featured Content section.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you,
    Taras
