blogs page doesn't show featured image

    I’ve set a blank page as my blogs page (using default template). I’ve also set a featured image for it but it’s not appearing. is this a theme issue, or a wordpress issue? I’ve seen some support forum posts about putting some script into index.php to get it to show up. I’m a software developer by day, but I’m still getting familiar with all of the details of WP. I’m hoping to not have to resort to php for this.

    Do you have a link to a page that has a featured image set?

    WordPress.com does not allow the theme files to be customized, so it’s not possible to edit index.php or any other template file. If you have a self hosted site, you can customize theme files as you wish.
