    Hi

Anyway for businesses to edit this footer tag? It’s looks kind of clunky for a business website to have the footer of – blog at wordpress.com and then the theme name.

I have the custom CSS upgrade on the React theme.

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there,

Unfortunately, it is against the WordPress.com Terms of Service to modify/remove this link (See #11, Attribution).

If you think this should be changeable, I’d recommend contacting WordPress.com specifically to let them know how you feel :).

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi there!

I believe this site does not have the Custom Design upgrade. This upgrade adds an extra notice to your site’s byline.

If you have any further questions, let us know.

So if you don’t pay for the custom upgrade you can do this:

© 2012 Space In Conflict. All Rights Reserved. | Powered by WordPress.com

If you do pay for the custom upgrade you stuck with:

Blog at WordPress.com. Theme: Customized React by The Theme Foundry

Can you see which one a business would prefer?

Please let me know how I can modify my byline as blog at wordpress.com is not what I want.

How do they get the copyright bit into the byline?

    Hey there,

Scott actually misunderstood what that site was doing – they do have the Custom CSS upgrade, and they’ve hidden the default footer and replaced it with their own copyright notice (through the theme options panel). This is definitely against the WordPress.com ToS, and we unfortunately can’t assist you in changing it unless they change their Terms of Service.

I’m sorry I can’t offer any more help, and I understand your frustration – it’s something that I *think* is in the works to be more flexible. But I hope you understand that in the meantime, we can’t offer advice on breaking the ToS here on the forums.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the response. Hope I did not get anyone into trouble.

Who makes the decisions on these sorts of requests? I would like to contact that person and not let this just die in the forum. I think it’s an important issue for people using this platform for business site. All ok with promoting wordpress.com but there should be some flexibility in the format and content of the footer.

    Thanks again.

I would never turn anyone in for doing this, of course. I just can’t aid and abet anyone :).

I would recommend sending WordPress.com a note through their contact form – they do read them, and they do take it into account. I think this is something that they’re mulling over internally as we speak, but it definitely helps them to get requests from users who care about the features.

For now, that’s the best route to go in my opinion.

Im agree with Andrew and its kind of bad service not to customize the footer for a business solution. I think that if you pay for a service you are supose to have the rights to custom the theme. Anyway I’m going to take your advice and writing to the contact, I know Im gonna get the same response, but I know that me and everybody that has this issue will not recommend again wordpress for business.

    Thanks

    I understand and agree – sorry I don’t have a better answer :(.

I’m going to close this topic now. Thanks!
