    Hi Taras, I’ve turned off Author bio and Author Info under Customize->Content Options. But the author info is still showing up in all the posts. Do I have to modify something else in order for this to work?

    Regards,
    Ramya

    Hello Ramya,

    I would like apologize for this issue on your site! I am currently working on a solution to fix this issue. For now, you can use this temporary solution to hide the author section (via a custom CSS):

    .entry-footer .entry-author {
      display: none;
    }

    I will let you know when a new version of the theme is ready, so you can remove this custom CSS from your site.

    Kind regards,
    Taras

    Hi Taras, The author info has now disappeared and I haven’t applied your fix. But my homepage looks different now. The blocks that were full width are not appearing full width now. I don’t know if these two things are related or just a coincidence.

    Regards,
    Ramya

    Hi Ramya,

    “The author info has now disappeared and I haven’t applied your fix.”
    – Could you please check the Content Options settings in the Customizer? Make sure “Display on single posts” is checked: https://snipboard.io/kjUsM5.jpg

    If you are referring to this section (https://snipboard.io/YGx0Ql.jpg) then make sure your full width section is not added to the columns block. The columns block displays a full width layout only in mobile views. In other cases, it will not display a full width layout because it’s causing overflow issues for other columns in this block.

    This was the issue reported by a WordPress.com team, and we’ve fixed it in the latest update.

    At the moment, your hero block is added to the Columns block, and you Columns block has just one column. If you want to have just a single column then there is no need to use the Columns block. Simply add your hero block to the content area.

    Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards,
    Taras

    Hi Taras, I don’t want the author info to be displayed so that is working perfectly.

    The hero block was displaying full width until recently on desktops. I tried adding a new hero block and it automatically gets added inside a single column.

    The same thing happened with the cover block on the homepage as well. It was displaying full width on desktops but now it is not.

    Regards,
    Ramya

    Ramya,

    “I don’t want the author info to be displayed so that is working perfectly.”
    – Great! :)

    “The hero block was displaying full width until recently on desktops.”
    – It was a theme issue. The columns block should not displays full width elements because it’s causing overflow issues. The Columns block is designed to display 2+ columns.

    “I tried adding a new hero block and it automatically gets added inside a single column.”
    – Make sure you are adding your new block outside of the Columns block. I’ve just tested the Hero block and the Cover block at WordPress.com, and they can be added without using the single column. Here is a video: https://cloudup.com/cC2AzssD_Yd

    Alternatively, if you want to keep that single column then select your Column block (using Outline tool: https://snipboard.io/5ke1Gu.jpg), and add alignfull class to your Columns block (https://wordpress.com/support/adding-additional-css-classes-to-blocks/).

    “The same thing happened with the cover block on the homepage as well.”
    – Your cover block on the Front Page is also added into a singular column, same as your hero block.

    Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards,
    Taras
