I’ve read through your instructions 3 times now. Here’s a link to what my website looks like: https://orionsfox.com/music/sweaty-hands/ and here’s a link to what yours looks like: https://encoredemo.wordpress.com/music/wasteland/. Mine appears to have no format at all. The excerpt text is squished up against my featured image and there’s no white background behind the songs??? What’s going on here?

That sounds like an odd issue, however, I’m not seeing what you have described. Is the issue still displaying for you or did you get it figured out?
I’ve figured it out. Pages that aren’t “Parents” needed to be set to “Default Template”. I was putting them as “Record Archive” or “Video Archive”.
