Arranging photos Front Page

  • Hi, I am setting up the front page of my site using your wonderful theme although as I would like it to be similar to your template with the featured image and then 2 side by side images underneath that with (my recipe collection) and (grow your own) underneath featured image I have 2 questions:

How do I make it that you can click either image and it directs you to those pages on the site?

The images keep pasting over the featured image when I preview what it looks like why is this? I can email you a photo if you like? I am having the most problem with this.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • That link doesnt show you what I have done on the blog as I haven’t published it.

  • Hi,

thank you for using our theme.

You can find more about setting up the front page to look like in the demo here: https://wordpress.com/theme/healthy-living/setup – part Using Custom Front Page Template

Can you please make your website public so I can check it out and help further, without checking your website it is hard to say what’s is.

    All the best,
    Ana

  • Thanks Ana, I have published it for you. Basically I am trying to do the (two-column child pages) for my front page under welcome. I just dont understand the instructions sorry. Do I need to finish my other pages like Recipe Collection etc before I can make them child pages of the front page in grid format?

  • Hi,

please navigate to your home page and click on the edit page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ – part Edit Page and than inside the Page Attributes: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-options/ choose the Front Page Template. Now you have a default template for your front page and this is why it doesn’t look like in our demo.

After that follow the instruction here: https://wordpress.com/theme/healthy-living/setup – part Two-Column Child Pages and Front Page Widget Area

You need to finish and publish two child pages and in the module for the “Parent Page” choose “Front Page”. After this step they will appear on the front page.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,
    Ana
