Adventure Theme: Widgets Not Available on Home Page

  I just added the Home News Section to my homepage, and would like to edit the left side bar. I have reviewed the forums and in any topic regarding the homepage, there is always an option to use widgets. Yet when I go to Customizer – Widgets, I receive a message, “Your theme has 3 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.” Is there something I am missing? If I do not use widgets to edit the left sidebar how do I put in some of the options that show on the demo version of this theme?

  Thank you, I found the Widget options through Dashboard.
