    Hello chutterd,
    Thank you for writing.

    It seems that featured images don’t display in RSS feeds. See the support topic Featured image not showing up in RSS feed, particularly the response by staff member lance, who says,

    Hi Sean, turns out this isn’t specific to Twenty Thirteen—but to how WordPress itself works. The featured image isn’t part of the post content, so the feed won’t show it (regardless of the app you use to consume the RSS feed).

    Hope this helps.
    Thank you again!

    Thanks for your reply but if you look at the RSS feed code you can see the featured image is linked in the coding.

    Hello again chutterd,

    so if it is linked, what is your real problem? Are you having a trouble with any third-party apps?

    Thank you!

    The code is there but when you put it in an RSS feed reader you can’t see the images. More specifically I was trying to get it to show on a Google site.

    I have tried it on many RSS feed readers found on line. Just to test whether it is the Google RSS plugin but the images still don’t show.

    @chutterd, I’ve added your request to our log on this issue. Currently there are only a handful of requests on this, but it is something that is under consideration and discussion.

    As one possible solution for you, you could add the featured image at the top of those posts in the content, full-size and centered and then we could use CSS to hide that image on your blog and single post pages. Is this something that you want to do with all of your posts, or just select posts?

    @thesacredpath,
    I think you may have worked something to allow the first image on a post to show on an RSS feed as the thumbnail. This is progress for sure.

    But now, how do I hide the image on my word press site so it doesn’t show twice on the BLOG page because I need it as the featured image for my site to look good.

    @thesacredpath,

    Or a piece of CSS that would allow my site to add the first image on a BLOG post as the featured image.

    Thank you @thesacredpath for your answers.

    @chutterd if you have added the featured image at the top of every posts, you can add the follwing CSS to hide the first element of every posts:

    .single-post .entry-content > :first-child {
        display: none;
    }

    If you only want to hide some images, just wrap it in a p or span element and add the .hide-featured-image class to it:

    <p class="hide-featured-image"><img /></p>

    Then add the following CSS to your custom CSS:

    .hide-featured-image {
        display: none;
    }

    Hope this helps.
    Thank you again!
