Adding Breadcrumbs

    Hello,

    I already use the plugin Yoast SEO and it has the ability to add breadcrumbs. It gives me the directions below on how to add it to my site, but I’m unsure exactly where to add it on the theme so I don’t interfere with the rest of the theme/site.

    Copy the following code into your theme where you want the breadcrumbs to be:

    <?php
    if ( function_exists(‘yoast_breadcrumb’) ) {
    yoast_breadcrumb( ‘<p id=”breadcrumbs”>’,'</p>’ );
    }
    ?>

    Common places where you could place your breadcrumbs are inside your single.php and/or page.php file just above the page’s title. Another option that makes it really easy in some themes is by just pasting the code in header.php at the very end.

    Thank you

    The blog I need help with is ashleyrigging.com.

    Hello,

    By default, the theme uses a breadcrumbs functionality that comes from WordPeress.com core (in the Customizer: Theme Options > General Options > Show breadcrumb navigation). Currently, it only provides a basic breadcrumb navigation for pages and category views.

    “Copy the following code into your theme where you want the breadcrumbs to be.”
    – Unfortunately, it’s not possible to modify any premium theme from WordPress.com collection, meaning you cannot modify its codebase by adding a custom code because this change will affect other users who use the same theme.

    Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Taras
