    Hello!

How is it possible to add blog posts in a Page like it is done here?

    https://profiledemo.wordpress.com/blog/

Can I decide which posts are displayed?

The blog I need help with is gherardoliguori.com.

    Hi!

You can setup a page like that by following these steps:

    1) Navigate to Pages > Add New, and create and publish a new page (e.g. called ‘Blog)
    2) Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Front Page and set this page as your ‘Posts’ page.
    3) Add this page to your menu, under Appearance > Menus.

Also just for your information, you can short posts on any page using the following shortcode: https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/

    Thanks!

    Thank you very much!

But is it possible to select some posts? I’m using Categories right now, but I don’t like the fact that there is an Italian-English title (and I can’t change it in anyway):

With the Blog page it’s only possible to show all posts. With the shortcode you can show posts in a particular category or tag.

The page you’ve linked to is a category index, and that title is reflecting the name of your category (which you can change under Posts > All Categories).

    Thanks!

    Sorry I was not clear.

The problem is that the word “Category” is in English in the title of the link:
    http://gherardoliguori.com/category/immagini-video/

and I can’t change in “Categoria” (Italian translation) or delete it

    Ah —

The title function is setup for translation. Can you confirm that you have WordPress configured for display in Italian (in your admin panel)?

    Thanks!

Yes, I confirm that. But “Category” is still in English. It would be great to be able to delete the word itself

I’ve tagged a happiness engineer to look into this, as all looks good on my end. We’ll see what they’re able to see, but I’m afraid the word ‘category’ is a part of a string that also includes the category name itself, so we’d need to submit an update for that on our end (which I’ll see what our other developers think about).

    Thanks!

    Thanks! Please keep me updated!

The word “Category” there is coming from the theme’s translations in GlotPress:

    https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/profile/it/default

At the moment, 56% of Profiles’s text strings (such as “Read more” and “Category”) have been translated into Italian.

Translations can only go live when they are at least 85% complete, so it would be great if you’d like to help get Italian over that threshold, by filling in the missing translations at the link above.

Just let me know here when you’re done and I will ask our team to have the translations verified by one of the volunteer Italian validators. Once that’s done, the translations normally go live within 24 hours.

Thanks in advance for helping make Profile’s Italian translation more complete!

    I think I did it!

I also underline that you should put “Categoria” before the other words that the user can add.

For example in English would be: “Facebook Category”, while in Italian “Categoria Facebook”.

Great! I’ll see if one of the volunteer Italian validators can have a look, thanks for adding them!

For example in English would be: “Facebook Category”, while in Italian “Categoria Facebook”.

Unfortunately, it’s not going to be possible to swap the order of the words, unless the theme developer opts to change something in the theme itself. To avoid this issue, many themes choose use the structure:

    Cateogry: Facebook

…which is more multilingual-friendly. Other themes just display the category name on its own, like:

    Facebook

I’ll keep you posted once your translations have been approved.

Your new strings have been validated and should go live within 24 hours. If you don’t see them show up by then, please let me know.

    Not working =(

    I see “Categoria” here:
    http://gherardoliguori.com/category/giornate-di-formazione/

Could you provide a link to a page or post and let me know which strings are still showing in English?

    #82792

    Now yes! Eventually!

    Glad to hear, thanks Kathryn!

Regarding the word order: I will pass this along.

    Thanks!
