Add an image slider to my blog

    Hey,
I want to somehow add an image slider or something alike to my blog. It it supposed to hold different magazine-covers, but only show one in its entirety at a time.
I think I cannot use CSS or javascript, so I don’t know what to do.
I bought the Mimbo Pro Theme, which has something alike on the demo, but I cannot find it when I click on the widgets.
It shows the last posts in a list (see here: http://dslvniedersachsen.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/unbenannt.png?w=450 )
Can someone help? Any ideas? I don’t know how to manage this!

The blog I need help with is dslvniedersachsen.wordpress.com.

    Hi

The carousel on the homepage is controlled through the theme options page (appearance → theme options).

To use it you decide what categories you want to display in the carousel and select them in the theme options. Then, when you publish a new post in that category, the carousel will update with the latest post.

Please note that posts in the carousel need to have a featured image.

great thanks. Is it possible to not show some special catogery as new posts? I would want them only in the carousel, but not as new posts.

Or can I use some widget only on ONE page-sidebar? And hide it from the others?

Hi – you can limit the posts that appear in the prominent spot at the top of the page by placing them in a special ‘featured’ category which you select in the same page you used for the carousel.

However the recent stories section will always show the most recent content – there’s no way to restrict that.
