Add a second posts (blog) page

    Hi,

Please forgive me if I fumble over this explanation; I am not that computer savvy really.

I have a blog that consists of three pages: the main home page which displays all my posts, my contact page, and my review policy. I would really like add another posts page to http://www.booksinteralia.com, keeping it separate from my main blog posts, and accessible through a link in the menu bar. Is this possible? If so, how feasible how is this for someone like me, who has absolutely no experience of coding or anything remotely similar?

    Many thanks in advance :)

The blog I need help with is booksinteralia.com.

Hi there – thanks for the message.

Adding more things to your navigation is totally possible. What exactly do you want to be on the new page?

You say another posts page, but I’m not clear what you mean by that? Do you mean a separate list of posts that aren’t on the homepage?

Let me know what you want and I’ll help if I can.

    Thanks – Ben

    Thank you for replying.

Yes, that is what I mean :) A separate list of posts, separate from my blog posts which make up my homepage, that you can navigate to through a link on the menu bar. Hope this makes more sense – I see it very clearly in my head but obviously, that’s not much use to anybody else.

    Thanks again,
    Rachael

Hi Rachael – thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately I’m not sure we will be able to do everything you want here.

What we can do is setup other ‘pages’ using categories.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/

These category archives can then be added to the navigation bar. That’s what I did on the Label demo site – https://labeldemo.wordpress.com/category/wordpress/

However the posts from this category will still appear on the homepage. I am not aware of a way to stop this.

If you had the business subscription then you could install a plugin that removes categories from the homepage, but that’s not available on the premium plan unfortunately.

You could create a static page for the homepage and then add a list posts block that hides your chosen category but that would change the design of the page.
