    Hey there,

On WordPress.com, you aren’t allowed to run any of your own ads, unfortunately. To do that you’d need to run a hosted WordPress.org install.

You can read a bit about WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org if you’re interested. There are limitations to what you can do with WordPress.com, since it’s a shared platform.

Is there a way to pick up everything I’m doing in .com and move it to .org? Any idea? I love Anthem and everything else that I’m doing in .com.

    THanks.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, migrating your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org will require some work.

Please read through this article about Import and Export links.

I hope that you find this article useful :)

Thanks for your quick responses. My question wasn’t very clear. I understand how to move the content, but can I move the entire theme as well as the content? I don’t want to part with Anthem but I need a place for ads.

    Thanks for your time,
    josh

    Hey Josh,

I gotcha. Anthem is definitely available for WordPress.org. To move/purchase it, you need to:

    1. Request a refund from the Store → Store page on your admin panel.
    2. Go to our website (Anthem’s creators) and purchase for self-hosted installations: http://thethemefoundry.com/wordpress/anthem/
    3. Download and enjoy your theme!

Let me know if that does it!
