moving social media buttons

  1. Hi there,

    I'm wanting to move the grey Facebook, twitter, and RSS buttons at the bottom of the page to the top of the page underneath the menu bar.

    Can I do this??

    thanks!

    The blog I need help with is carolineclarke.ca.

  2. Hey there,

    Unfortunately, the position of the social icons can't be shifted to the top of the page on WordPress.com. Sorry this isn't the answer you were hoping for :(.

    Let me know if you have any questions!

  3. Thanks...if you have any suggestions I'm open to them :o)

  4. As Andy said, the social icons can't be repositioned, unfortunately :(

    Sorry we couldn't be more helpful.

  5. I think the icons can be moved with absolute positioning. Here is an example:

    #container {
    	position: relative;
    }

    footer[role="contentinfo"] nav.social {
    	position: absolute;
    	top: 90px;
    	right: 75px;
    	width: 100%;
    	text-align: right;
    }

    Try it out and play around with the numbers to move the buttons to where you want.

    Andy or Scott, if you think that using absolute positioning in this context isn't good, let me know.

  6. Great suggestion! Generally, we don't recommend absolute positioning of elements with responsive themes. However, Caroline, if you're happy with the results, feel free to use this code.

    Let us know if you have any further questions :)
